Particitiz was commissioned by the European Commission - Joint Research Center to organize their 5th edition of the Festival of Citizen Participation and Deliberative Democracy, which took place on June 12, 13, and 14 of 2024.
This is a networking event that brings together people working on and interested in citizen engagement and deliberative democracy in Europe (and beyond). This year’s theme was citizen engagement in solving environmental issues, with a special focus on the green transition.
The program included expert panels, interactive workshops, a city tour, art installations, and performances featuring Colin Scicluna, Head of Cabinet of the Vice-President of the European Commission, Hendrik Van de Velde, Ambassador of Belgium and Coordinator of the EU Presidency 2024, and Bernard Magenhann, Acting Director-General of the JRC.
For this project, Particitiz supported the JRC in identifying and inviting participants as well as coordinating on-site during the three-day event.
